Learn more →The Method
Kaiut Yoga is a therapeutic method created by Francisco Kaiut, built around one idea: your joints — not your muscles — hold the key to a long, mobile, pain-free life. Poses are held for minutes instead of seconds, allowing the nervous system to release and the body to genuinely change.
There's no rush toward a "perfect" shape here. Instead of forcing flexibility, we work with gentleness, patience and precision — meeting each student's body exactly where it is. It's a practice that welcomes beginners, older bodies, and anyone recovering from pain or injury, while still challenging the most experienced practitioners.
Modern life stiffens us long before it should. Kaiut Yoga is the original, evidence-informed return path — a genuinely healthy way of aging.

The Story Behind the Method
As a child, Francisco Kaiut suffered an accident that left him with chronic hip pain — pain that conventional medicine of the time couldn't resolve. That search sent him across Brazil and the world, exploring chiropractic care, yoga, and other therapeutic practices in pursuit of real relief.
Along the way, he noticed that Western yoga is often misread as physical performance, when its true value lies in lasting maintenance and well-being. What began as a personal search became decades of empirical, scientific study — not a single insight or a passing trend, but a method built one body at a time.

Founder & Studio Owner · Certified Kaiut Yoga Teacher
Born in Brazil and based in New Orleans, Carla is a certified Kaiut Yoga teacher and the founder of the studio. She has been studying the method since 2017 — developed in Brazil, it has been a natural and formative part of her personal and professional path.
In 2018, she began studying directly with Francisco Kaiut, the creator of the method, and continues to refine her practice through ongoing study. Carla has taught at the Jewish Community Center in New Orleans, working with a wide range of students and physical conditions. She is deeply committed to helping people feel better in their bodies — with less pain, more ease, and greater confidence in movement.
Certified Kaiut Yoga Teacher
Running was Elizabeth's first love and therapy, until chronic hip pain made it impossible. After years of PT, chiropractic care, and being told surgery was inevitable, relief always felt temporary. In 2025, after breaking her ankle, Elizabeth discovered Kaiut Yoga with Carla — the method supported her ankle recovery while also relieving pain in her hips and lower back that she hadn't experienced relief from in years.
Over five years of physical and mental healing, the practice transformed her relationship with her body and pain. In 2025, Elizabeth completed the Kaiut Teacher Training and is excited to share this powerful method with others.

“★★★★★I have practiced various types of yoga but, Kaiut yoga was new for me. I only had a few days in Carla's practice studio because I was from another state. Carla, in the short introduction gave me an experience that left me wanting more. Her and her studio were warm and inviting, her patience was infectious. She was even kind enough to reach out to my home state to help me find a place I could continue to enjoy Kaiut yoga. Thank you Carla!

“★★★★★I'm not gonna lie the first time I took this yoga class, I didn't quite get it. But the next morning my hips felt amazing. I went back and now go once a week for help with pain relief. This is not your typical yoga class — the focus is more on opening up your joints. I can highly recommend Carla and Elizabeth.
